Walks Tall Woman In Moon Of November

The November Moon has Walks Tall Woman as the Original Clan Mother. She is the Guardian of Leadership and the Keeper of New Paths. This Clan Mother teaches us how to lead by example instead of demanding that others allows follow the leader. We learn that in order to change our life situation we must take our own actions instead of relying on others to do it for us.

Walks Tall Woman gives us the message that it is OK to be proud of our accomplishments through our own self-esteem. She also reminds us that this is different than looking at our successes as being self-important. There is a huge difference in the two. We grow to be happier with ourselves when we hone our skills. Our actions speak much louder than words so, we should be living examples of our beliefs. People then see that we are walking our truth. We learn from this Clan Mother that our reputation comes from our own integrity and not from the opinions of those around us. You might think that sounds odd but it really isn’t. If we walk our truth each day, others form a better respect for us than they would if we let their opinions mold us.

Weaves The Web Mother Of The October Moon

The Clan Mother of the October Moon is Weaves The Web who is the Mother of Creativity. This Creatress is also known as the Manifester of Dreams and brings visions into reality. The Mother of the October Moon is the Guardian of Life Force and teaches women to give birth to their dreams. She is also the Keeper of our Survival Instinct and the Mother of the Creative and or Destructive within us.

Weaves The Web is one of the Thirteen Original Clan Mothers and one that I hold dear to my own heart. As the Mother of the October Moon she teaches us how to employ our innate desire to create in such a way that we can make our dreams into a substantive form or a reality.

We learn how to use our energy to build or possibly change our needs by tapping into our very Life Force from Weaves The Web. She teaches us how to bring life to our visions through our actions and our artistic talents.

The message from the Mother of the October Moon that speaks the most to me is her lesson of how to create something new from something old. Most of all her message of destroying the restrictions we have put within our hearts that limit our own creativity. We humans often put limits on ourselves in so many aspects of our lives and we must learn to let them go so that we can grow in a healthy way. In order to do this, we must look at the truths within ourselves. Weaves The Web, the Clan Mother of the October Moon teaches us to always Work With Truth. I love this message, don’t you?

Serve The Truth Medicine

During the month of August our teachings of feminine wisdom come from “She Who Heals” who is the Intuitive Healer. We learn to Serve The Truth from this Original Clan Mother. The 8th Clan Mother is the Keeper of the Healing Arts along with being the Singer of the Death Song. She Who Heals is also the Keeper of the Life and Death Mysteries. She is our Mother of Intuition and All Rites of Passage. She Who Heals is the Guardian of the Medicine Roots and Healing Herbs. She is a servant to humankind.

When this 8th Clan Mother came to earth, she taught us humans how to serve others with a happy heart using our healing abilities. She Who Heals helped the first humans to understand and honor the life cycles of birth, death, and then re-birth. We learn from her to not just rejoice the arrival of a new birth but to honor and not to fear death as there is a re-birth of our soul. Depending on your spiritual belief, that re-birth can be your soul entering heaven, entering the Essence of the Universe, or entering into a new body for a new life. Most faith traditions profess in one form or another that the soul actually lives on in a different form. She Who Heals reminds of the healing of the complete cycle of life.

I believe in miracles, I have been a witness to many. Life, to me is a miracle, in and of itself. She Who Heals encourages us to believe in the miracles of life through our connection with our Spiritual Essence. Remind yourself each day of the miracles that surround you and find healing in them for yourself and those around you.

While on Earth, She Who Heals brought understanding of the Plant Kingdom with the healing uses of all parts of the plants.

What I love about She Who Heals is that she embodies the feminine principle that serves the Children of Earth in truth by aiding us through the healing process of being human. If we listen to our hearts and embrace the teaching of the Mother of the August Moon, we learn to Serve The Truth in all we do. We can heal with a smile, a kind word, a gentle touch, or the sharing of wisdom.

Mitakuye Oyasin Connected To The Sacred Path

If you have read any of my posts, you might have noticed that I sign each one with “Mitakuye Oyasin” which means we are all related. For me this is the essence of what I believe, that we are all related and we are all connected. I am your sister and I can not exist without you. I can not exist with being connected to the Spirit World or without being a part of the Great Pulse of the world. It is important for me to honor all people and all things and the relationships that I have with them in the Web of Life.

We are all a part of the Family of Earth and loved by the Creator of All Things. All of us from the beings in the oceans, the birds in the sky, the plants of the ground, and the animals are all the children of the Creator and share that connection. Chief Seattle taught that we are all a part of the Web of Life and that if I do something to you, then I do the same thing to myself.

Let’s think about that. If I give you joy, then I bring myself joy. If I honor your being then I am in turn honoring my own being. It does not matter if we are young, old, rich, poor, strong, or weak. If we remember that all things are related and the way we treat each other and the things around us matters, we can have a better life.

If we are disrespectful to humans or the living things on this earth, it does effect us in the long run. Don’t you think? I do! I believe it with my whole being.

Mitakuye Oyasin is a lesson or medicine that I remind myself of each day. It is one of the reasons that I started this blog to both teach myself and understand the lessons of all of the living parts of the Earth that I can learn from. My posts help me and hopefully help you too.

One really helpful book for me is Listen to the Drum. Blackwolf helped me to understand the connection that I have to all things and to listen to my own drum, my heartbeat as I approach each day.

Sacred Medicine From Listening Woman

The Clan Mother who teaches us during the May Moon is Listening Woman. One of the The Thirteen Original Clan Mothers who came to teach the humans her sacred medicine, she is the Mother of the Stillness and Inner Knowing. Listening Woman is the Guardian of Introspection and the Keeper of Discernment. She interprets messages from the Spirit World and is the Counselor or Advisor of hearing.

Black is the color that is connected to the May Moon and Listening Woman and represents seeking an answer.

Listening Woman, as her name indicates, teaches us how to enter the “stillness” and hear the small and still voice within our hearts. Each of us has an Inner Knowing and this Mother teaches us how to find and understand what we carry with us in our Spiritual Essence. We learn to really hear the messages of nature, our own hearts, the Spirit World, the viewpoints of our fellow humans, the creature teachers, and the Great Spirit. We often have to enter the silence within ourselves to grasp or hear what is happening around us.

We learn from Listening Woman how to listen to the opinions and viewpoints of the people around us while we also listen to the voices and lessons of our ancestors. There is harmony in allowing all life forms the respect of their own Sacred Point of View. Often we walk a crooked trail because we talk so much that we forget to listen. When we ignore or stop listening to the voice of others, we can actually stunt our own spiritual growth.

The Clan Mother of May teaches us how to understand body language and unspoken thoughts as we listen with our heart. We begin to pick up on the inflection of words spoken and begin to see whether we are hearing what the person really feels.

The most important medicine from Listening Woman, the Clan Mother who teaches during the May Moon cycle is to HEAR THE TRUTH
