The spirit of the Wild Boar can be a totem for many with its powerful medicine teaching us about confrontation. One might think that if the Wild Boar Totem is of Native American tradition that it would have to do with confronting our enemies. In a way that is true but not an enemy that we might imagine.
The spirit of Wild Boar teaches the lesson of confronting our own fears, challenges that we may be facing, or situations that we are finding uncomfortable. We learn to look at our own weaknesses and to change them into strengths.
When the spirit of Wild Boar comes to us as a totem, he is encouraging us to embrace the nature of the warrior inside of us and find the courage to face our fears. He might also be nudging us to look at a personal weakness that we have been ignoring and need to begin to work on. Perhaps there is a challenge in our career that we are avoiding. Brother wild boar is saying it is time to finish a project that we have left undone because we think it is too difficult to accomplish. He says that we are ready to confront our feelings regarding a life situation that is making us nervous so that we can find closure.
Basically we are reminded to stop procrastinating. Wild Boar as a totem tells us that we already posses the courage to face any situation that life brings our way…we just have to stop ignoring it and move forward. I think that we all realize that half of any battle is won when we acknowledge and accept what is presented to us. Use your inner courage and take on whatever is making you uncomfortable or fearful.

Hello,
It did indeed I found a deck of medicine cards at a yard sale without instructions so having to research each card in the
deck to begin to understand readings. So thank you.
In this Time of Covid, The Boar is especially useful as, being a practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism, I have been doing the practice of Dorje Gotrab, a fierce-healing wisdom energy, who has a nine headed boar as his mount. His mantra is called the Vajra Armor Mantra as in “Armor of God”. It creates a protective armor that incinerates upon contact, any disease, of mind , body, emotions & spirit. You can search for it on YouTube and you do not need an empowerment from a lama to practice it. Search for Dorje Gotrab Mantra or Vajra Armor Mantra. You do not have to be Buddhist for it’s benefits to occur and its benefits extend to even the agnostic and atheistic. If you are an Atheist, think of the mantra in terms of Tesla’s: Energy, Frequency & Vibration.
Nor is it a requirement that you visualize Dorje Gotrab. Of course you will need to generate faith that the mantra works, but this may only come about after some time spent chanting the mantra. The usual time frame to expect positive results is from as little as 3-4 months all the way to 1 year. If, after that period, nothing happens then move on down the road in peace.
Wow…what a way to move forward. and through the world. Thank you.
This is a good blog, but people should be more specific when they say Native Americans, not all of them thought highly of the Wild Boar. The Apaches viewed Pigs or Boars as a bad omen. But I like the wild boar totem myself.
This morning on the edge of an opening into the forest, following sunrise, the skull of a wild boar, identified by its tusks, was spotted. All it’s teeth were still in place.
With its spirit’s permission, the tusks alone were easily taken. The accompanying revelation represented by the beautiful tusks’ removal was physical acknowledgment of having abandoned the practice of confrontation.
Growing toward Eagle in a Scorpio birth. Humbled and grateful, I am.
Thank you, Beverly Two Feathers, and respondents, for sharing your wisdom.

Had a vision of a wild boar appearing out of a realisation of a certain emotional pattern. It has brought relief. Truthfulness and facing the fears are felt.
Oh my! Thank you for directing me to this post Bev. As you know a pig has come into my life and I did wonder if she has any messages for me. So much of this article is spot on!!
I had today a wild boar in front of the my house. It was a female (looked like she had piglets). It stayed for 45 mins ate and did not mind when I came out of the house, talked to her and tried to get her attention (from a safe distance and next to my car just in case she will try for a run :))
I was very happy to see it, and when I told the story to my husband, when he came home, he suggested to check what is the wild boar totem.
I Google it, and this explanation seems to be closest to what I go through right now.
I would appreciate very much if you have more info about it.
Thank you so much.
I like the idea of find the courage to face our fears. This will put us on the path of success.
Great totem, Thanks
