Native American Spiritual Calendar
Ghost Dance 2018 Wall Calendar
At a time when Native American nations across America faced destruction, the Ghost Dance religion sprang forth to offer hope. It was in the late 1800s that the spiritual connections with the dance began. The authorities at the time completely misunderstood the Ghost Dance which wasn’t anything new, they completely misunderstood most of anything that the Native People lived by. Because of the misguided understanding there was a massacre of Sioux men, women, and children at Wounded Knee in 1890. Artist, J D Challenger, gives us some remarkable paintings in this calendar that just might renew the bonds of strength and dignity of the Native Americans to their most important history.

The Ghost Dance period had its beginnnings with the Paiute “Prophet” Wovoka and spread quickly through the Plains tribes and beyond.
The paintings of JD Challenger tell a story if you look at them closely. A story of a People, the First Peoples of North America, that has a rich heritage and an even richer tradition.

The Wolf/Fire Owl
Hello Fire Owl! You can find the price of the calendar by clicking on the image…that takes you to the site that sells them. How did I get my name? Through dreams, I was directed to a special place where I was blessed with the gift of two feathers. Once found and held in my hand, the name Two Feathers was called out. Since I was in an area surrounded by ancient Stone People (where much of my energy gets rejuvenated) I knew it was what I was to be called. As to the “name” of what we should be called…Indian, North American, Native American, 1st Nations or whatever…they are all labels and in the long run don’t mean much. We are all related as our Lakota brothers and sisters have long said. We are all from the ancients who inhabited Turtle Island for thousands of years before the Europeans arrived…there were no borders…this is true but most of my readers are not usually at that level of understanding. Too many get offended as to what label to be used…does it really matter? We are the People…
