A Lesson About Unity and Wholeness Achieved
In the Navajo and Hopi traditions the Swirling or Whirling Rainbow Woman brings the rains that nurture the Three Sisters (Corn, Squash, and Beans). The Whirling Rainbow Woman comes from all Four Directions and curves around making a cup to hold the rain. Without the rain the Three Sisters would die and the People can not be fed.
The Whirling Rainbow is a promise of peace among all Nations and all peoples. The Rainbow Race opposes the idea of a superior race that would control and conquer. It instead stresses equality. Peace comes from the understanding that all races are one. The Whirling Rainbow embodies the idea that the unity of all colors, all creeds can work together for the good of the whole. When we reach a time that all pathways to wholeness are respected and practiced by all cultures the prophecy of the Whirling Rainbow will be complete.
Jamie Sams speaks of the Prophecy of the Whirling Rainbow that she learned as a child. The prophecy was quite specific. “When the Time of the White Buffalo approaches, the third generation of the White Eyes’ children will grow their hair and speak of love as the healer of the Children of Earth. These children will seek new ways of understanding themselves and others. They will wear feathers and beads and paint their faces. They will seek the Elders of the Red Race and drink of their wisdom. These white-eyed children will be a sign that the Ancestors are returning in white bodies, but they are Red on the inside. They will learn to walk the Earth Mother in balance again and reform the ideas of the white chiefs. ”
I was blown away when I read this prophecy! For those readers of mine who are old enough you will know of which children this prophecy describes. The Flower Children and hippies of the 1960s are who are described and even though many fell away for a while, many of us are returning to this knowledge.
Once the Buffalo returned the generation following the Flower Children would witness the dawning of the Fifth World of Peace. During this dawning of the Fifth World there will be changes to Mother Earth that will create fear in her children but that fear will lead to an understanding and unity of One Planet and One People. Are we in this dawning? I think we are.
The Whirling Rainbow of Peace destroys the lies that have made the Children of earth be distrustful of each other. It will replace the illusion that we must be separate and shows us the truth in unity.
This is a time to look at the lessons being given to you and to toss away any type of discord from your life. It is a time for you to grow. It is a time to create new beauty and abundance in your life. Starve the negativity in your life by not giving it power over you. Do not step in the quicksand of petty tyrants.
Maybe some will now understand why I sign my posts with the Lakota Prayer…

I love seeing the 12-year-old discussion on this post. It gives me perspective on how much has transpired even since this was published. There still exists great fear, but from all corners of the world spring up countless beacons of Light Knowledge. As I’ve read elsewhere, as enough Warriors of Light stand up [as a sort of spiritual global network] there will be radical positive changes. However, darkness being hyper-resistant to the light might scurry in response, resulting in increasing activity and uncertainty! But, as the Prophesies say, Light Wins. Knowledge is power, and Light Knowledge is the exponentially greater victor. Thank you for publishing this 🙂
I love this. It’s seems a though we are having another influences children of the “flower children” that coming up. Teaching us new beginnings again. I am proud that I grew up a hippie child and love and respect mother Earth and passed that love to my children and grand children. Beautiful prophecy and to see it coming true.
The time is here. An awakening is taking place, especially with the release of the award-winning movie, Avatar. Now the world will be shown a model for believing in the Divine One, the Divine All, the Great Spirit, call it what you want, it is the belief in the interconnectedness of all things. Whatever your pathway, we are all related. ~Mitakuye Oyasin ~ I lived in Haight Ashbury and in Berkeley, CA in the 1960s. I am still a hippie at 62 years of age and still retain the values of that time: love and peace. We have room in this world for all pathways to the one! It is time to unite! The very survival of our planet may depend on it!
A whirling rainbow of peace! of course! and I must agree with Kate and Mimi – your posts are inspired, and yes, we are blessed to be living at this time, in this moment as the spiritual revolution is underway – or should it be the Spiritual Revelation?

Love this line – “Starve the negativity in your life by not giving it power over you. Do not step in the quicksand of petty tyrants.” Also, the visual of a whirling rainbow of peace is so powerful.

Indeed, it’s a returning to this knowledge, Bev. And it’s a wonderful time to be alive to see the dawning of a, not new, but re-newed spirituality.
Oh Bev–in those days, people were ashamed of their American Indian Heritage. I loved what you wrote here. Your ancestors speak to you on these beautiful posts!!
Legend in our family is that my Great Grandfather escaped from a reservation and came to live in Indiana. He would never reveal even to his children who our People were…he was terrified of having to go back. He would tell of the “old ways”, he would tell of the awful conditions that he fled but would never tell from where he came. This would have been back in the early 1900s. It would be easy to just dismiss his stories as the ramblings of a disturbed man except that there was such passion and pain in him. I’ve always not only believed him but “felt” and “known” a bond and a belonging.
When I learned of the Whirling Rainbow Prophecy and how these children of the third generation were a sign of the Ancestors returning into white bodies but are Red on the inside I understood so clearly why I’ve always known the connection whether it comes from Great Grandpa Ferguson or from having lived on Mother Earth many times before as a member of the Red Race. We are in important times and souls are being awakened to teach.
Thank you, Bev. Do you have American Indian Ancestry?
